WATCH: Stunning Time-Lapse Charts the Development of F1 Track at Miami Dolphins’ Stadium for Miami GP

Earlier this year, F1 announced the United States of America will get another race next season. And it will be nowhere else but in the sunny state of Florida, as 2022 will see the debut of the Miami GP on the calendar.

With all eyes on the clock, the organisers of the event gave a sneak peek into the progress of constructing the track.

Miami GP organisers share video of start-finish straight construction

From next year, the Hard Rock Stadium complex in Miami Gardens will add F1 as a sport to take place on its territory. The track that’s being constructed will be 5.41km long. It will feature 19 corners and three long straights, which provide the possibility of three DRS zones.

Earlier today, its organisers shared a time-lapse video of the construction of the start-finish straight. This straight is one among certain sections of the track which run around the Hard Rock Stadium. Although there’s no exact date for the race, the progress rate looks healthy as the video shows they have laid the tarmac out on this straight.

This prompted EM Motorsport, who provide safety systems like electronic flags to F1, to share this progress. They wrote a light-hearted caption mentioning the next phase of construction would involve them providing lights to the circuit.

Hard Rock Stadium is home to the Miami Dolphins

The Hard Rock Stadium complex is one of the most versatile sporting facilities in today’s time. While the upcoming F1 track runs around it, the stadium itself hosts several sporting teams based in Miami. One of them is NFL team Miami Dolphins, who won the Super Bowl two times.

Over the years, the Hard Rock Stadium also hosted various other events. Along with the annual Miami Open, the stadium also hosted one of WWE’s most iconic events, WrestleMania XXVIII.
