“You Talk That Big Talk, You Have to Back It”- Usain Bolt Slams Sha’Carri Richardson

After serving her ban during the Tokyo Olympics, Sha’Carri Richardson is back. The sprinter has competed in different competitions but hasn’t found her rhythm yet. The sprinter made her comeback at the Nike Prefontaine Classic competition but finished last. Moreover, her post-race comments went viral where Richardson shut down her critiques, which left a sour taste for many people. Despite her current slump, the legendary sprinter Usain Bolt gave her some words of encouragement.

Usain Bolt advises Sha’Carri Richardson

The GOAT of track and field spoke encouraged Richardson to focus on her training. “I would tell Sha’Carri to train harder and to be focused and not say too much… If you talk that big talk you have to back it up.”

“So just train hard and focus on that and try to come back do it and then talk about it,” said Bolt.

Hopefully, Bolt’s words will encourage Richardson to come back stronger. She hasn’t quite found her rhythm in her performances since the ban and perhaps extra hours on the track could do the trick.

Richardson should step up and be counted

Bolt has previously stated that he likes Sha’Carri and the edge she brings with herself to the track. He’s now advising that Richardson should train hard and shut down her haters up with terrific performances. Despite finishing last in Oregon, the sprinter had some encouragement in her performance during the Diamond League Meet where she finished fourth.

Thus, her road to redemption starts now. Whether she takes up Usain Bolt’s advice is up to her. But, Richardson is a talented sprinter and it’ll be interesting to see if she can live up to her potential.
