ATP Chairman Announces Interesting Updates for Men’s Tennis Tour as Part of Their Strategic Plan
Tennis is undeniably one of the most traditional sports in the world. However, it is slowly but surely evolving with advanced technological support and to cater to the entertainment factor. Accordingly, the ATP, the governing body of the men’s tour, has unveiled a few updates from their new Strategic Plan.
The development does not come as a surprise for ardent tennis fans, who have been waiting for the plan to come out for 18 months. But now, the wait is finally over.
Notably, it is was reporter Jon Wertheim who shared ATP Chairman Andrea Gaudenzi’s email on Twitter. And as per the statement, these are the following updates to be implemented soon on the men’s circuit.
“New Profit-Sharing formula, long-term prize money levels, expanding more ATP 1000 tournaments to 12-day events, new long-term Category Terms for tournaments, as well as key elements of the Calendar in order to deliver strengthened top tier events for media, players, and fans,” the email read.

ATP Tour announces update on its Strategic Plan for men’s tennis tour
Tennis is one of the most popular and most traditional sports in the world. But, it must also adapt to the changing demands of the audience. That is why these new updates will be added to the men’s tour. However, detailed information on these updates will soon follow.
Gaudenzi wrote, “Tennis has an incredible amount of untapped upside in terms of entertainment and value. It’s only by working together as a sport, with aligned interest and focus on improving the experience for fans, that we have a chance of realizing our full potential as a sport.”

Furthermore, the ATP chairman also reflected on maximizing the potential of tennis. Clearly, the sport is looking to making some valuable changes soon.
“It is only through this spirit of partnership, transparency, and alignment of interests that we can truly maximize our potential and switch our focus to the competition we face in the broader sports and entertainment landscape,” the email read.
