New England Patriots vs New York Jets Game Set To Create a Unique Peace of History

The New England Patriots vs the New York Jets rivalry is amongst the fiercest duels in the NFL. Both teams used to play in the Easter division of the American Football Conference [AFC]. They have also been in the same division since the inception of the American Football League in 1960.

Both teams play each other a guaranteed two times a year. Thanks to the geographical rivalry between New York City and Boston, this rivalry is considered to be as fierce as the Manchester derby in soccer or the Yankees-Red Sox rivalry in Major League Baseball.

Jets vs Patriots set to create a unique piece of history in their 125th meeting

In the latest season of the NFL, both the New York Jets and the New England Patriots started on a disappointing note. Looking to bounce back from their opening fixtures, both the teams meet each other looking for a win in what promises to be a fiery affair. But that is not why this match is special.

The Jets-Patriots fixture this Sunday will be the 125th meeting between the two teams. In the past 124 matches, there has never been an instance where both the teams fielded a rookie quarterback as a starter. This 124 match record will change this Sunday when the New York Jets rookie quarterback Zach Wilson will go head to head against New England Patriots rookie quarterback Mac Jones.

Though both the quarterbacks are searching for their first wins, both performed well in their respective opening fixtures. Jets’ Zach Wilson completed 20 of his 37 passes for 258 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception.

At the same time, Mac Jones finished with 281 yards and a touchdown with a 74.4 completion percentage. With both the rookies looking in fiery form and searching for a win, this match looks exciting.
