“Will Need Some Breathing Space”: LTA Chief Says Emma Raducanu Will Dominate Tennis

British teenager Emma Raducanu has taken the world by storm in recent weeks. The teenager in her first-ever appearance at the US Open went the distance and won the title. She became an overnight sensation and has been living a fairytale since then.

Recently, the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) chief Scott Lloyd spoke on the developments with Emma Raducanu. Especially after winning her first Grand Slam title at the US Open last week, she has been in high demand. Her life has turned upside down. However, the teenager is a humble human being.

The LTA chief stated, “Obviously on the back of New York, Emma’s life outside the court has been turned upside-down but she is a very grounded person with great values and a great family behind her. From an LTA perspective, guiding not just Emma but all our post-scholarship players through this transition to the professional game is a part of what we do.”

Nonetheless, Lloyd does maintain that it will take some time for Emma to adjust to this fame. There is a long way ahead of her and she will come across some rough moments. However, with time she will get used to it as every other player does.

Mr. Scott further added, “It will take some adjustment and she will need some breathing space. There will be bumps in the road, and there will be times next year when she is going to have a target on her back, and she will have to get used to that. Like everybody in top-level sport, she may have some difficulties in sustaining this level of performance but she has shown she has the capability to go on and do that.”

At the moment, Emma can enjoy this wonderful moment. Not in anyone’s wildest dreams would they have imagined the teenager would go on to win her first Grand Slam title at the US Open this season. We wish her all the best in the future.
