Celebrity SAS Who Dares Wins: Who has left the series so far?

Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins gives famous faces the exact same, punishing treatment as the standard version, which has led to some stars throwing in the towel.

The series puts a group of daring celebrities through the gruelling SAS selection process.

Every intense challenge is watched over by Ant Middleton and his team of fellow ex-special forces soldiers, who are relish pushing the famous faces to their limit in everything from diving backwards out of a helicopter into open water, or taking part in a terrifying hostage rescue situation.

In between the contestants are interrogated by Ant and Jason Fox, often opening up about their motivation for taking part and painful periods in their lives.

However sometimes it can all get a bit much for the celebs, and a handful have thrown in the towel with two episodes to go.

Here’s who has made an early exit from the show.

Kerry Katona

Kerry became the first star to quit, throwing in the towel during the second episode when she refused to do 50 push ups.

‘It’s been amazing, I’ve actually loved it,’ Kerry said on her exit.

‘I’ve never looked at myself as a failure. It is what it is, if you didn’t achieve it then work harder.’

Ulrika Jonsson

Ulrika was removed due to health concerns.

The TV star  – who was previously treated for hypothermia on the series – was told she could no longer continue as it wasn’t ‘medically’ safe for her to do so.

Ant said: ‘We can’t push you from a safety point of view. That’s the worry, that you would keep going to the point it wasn’t safe for you.’

The X Factor star sustained an injury to a pectoral muscle during one of the extreme challenges.

He picked up a shoulder injury and was left screaming in pain during a water extraction test, which involved being pulled out of the sea into a speedboat, and was left screaming in pain. He was forced to withdraw from the process.

Shanaze Reade

Shanaze’s time on Who Dares Wins ended abruptly when she broke her shoulder.

The motorcross star was left gutted as she said she wasn’t bothered about breaking bones as it has been ‘part of her life’ in racing.

‘I was just devastated about that because for me breaking bones and stuff, I don’t care,’ she said.

‘It’s been a part of my life with racing. I felt like I was short changed because I went out with injury. I was absolutely gutted.’

Saira Khan

In an episode where the injuries kept coming, Saira was forced to medically withdraw after hurting her ankle as a result of a mud wrestle with Ulrika.

She needed surgery as a result of the injury.

The TV star said taking part prompted her to quit ITV daytime show Loose Women as it made her ‘realise you’ve got to cut through the s**t and start living’.

She added: ‘I didn’t want to go back to the same s**t, getting the same results, so I changed my life. I’m actually very happy about it.’

Vicky Pattison

The process became too much for Vicky (Picture: Channel 4)

The process was overwhelming for Vicky who confessed she ‘just couldn’t go on any more’ in such a physically and mentally demanding environment.

‘I throw myself into everything I do- I give a 110% & not being able to finish the course has been a huge source of shame & embarrassment to me,’ she said on Instagram.

‘I’m annoyed that out of all the years I have wanted to do it – the year that they wanted me was the year I’d been sitting at home with me finger up me arse, watching Tiger King, eating banana bread & doing online quizzes to find out which ‘Friends’ cast member I would be.

She added: ‘But I suppose that’s life and quite frankly I’m not sure I’d ever be SAS material regardless of how much I trained.. I am a big, squishy girl pants & I think I’m ok with that.’

Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins continues tonight at 9pm on Channel 4.
