Former interim UFC welterweight champion, Carlos Condit recently announced his retirement from the UFC. Fans and fellow fighters have been quick to wish ‘The Natural Born Killer’ a happy life after retirement. Recently, Condit’s teammate at the Jacksonwink-MMA, the former UFC light-heavyweight kingpin, Jon Jones took to social media to wish Condit the same.

“Carlos, my brother, you have kicked lots of ass, won world titles, traveled the world, built excellent relationships, and have made lots of money. I will say your MMA career was a great success. Thank you for being an inspiration over the years. I respect you more than you will ever realize. I know you’re going to kill it whatever it is you decide to do next. Always in your corner. #Happyretirement,” wrote Jones.

Condit last fought at UFC 264 where he lost a decision to welterweight prospect, Max Griffin. His last win in the Octagon was against fellow legend Matt Brown in January. Many believe that his best days as a fighter are behind him. It’s hard to argue with them too as Condit is for sure not the fighter anymore that he once used to be.

The former WEC and UFC veteran holds notable wins over the likes of Rory MacDonald, Dan Hardy, Nick Diaz, and more. He retires with a record of 32-14 with a total of 28 finishes. His tally of 15 T/KO and 13 submission wins show his versatility as a fighter. A fan favorite throughout his career, Condit has been part of some of the most memorable fights in the history of the UFC.

Fans want to see Jon Jones back in the Octagon

It has been quite a while now since Jones has actually competed in the UFC. He is out of action since his controversial decision win against Dominick Reyes at UFC 247 to defend his title. He has since given up his belt in a bid to move up to the heavyweight division.

Fans wanted to see a super fight against Francis Ngannou but the chances of that happening are slim to none now. It will be interesting to see when Jones eventually returns and what the promotion has in store for him.
