Matt Hardy Mimicks an Incident from WWE’s Infamous Plane Ride from Hell

Lately, AEW superstar Matt Hardy is hellbent to shave off Orange Cassidy’s hair. And on last night’s AEW Rampage, Hardy made sure that he set an example for his enemy.

In a segment when Matt Hardy made his way out on tonight’s AEW Rampage, he got into a verbal altercation with a fan who was dressed up like Orange Cassidy. And this ticked off Hardy. He grabbed the fan and dragged him inside the ring with the help of Jack Evans.

Hardy then grabbed scissors and cut the ponytail of the fan, much like what happened to WWE personnel, Michael Hayes, when he was traveling with the rest of the wrestlers in a plane, and X-Pac cut off his ponytail.

These segments show that the AEW’s creative team is planning a hair vs hair match between Matt Hardy and Orange Cassidy in the future.

What happened to Michael Hayes?

Recently, Vice released the eighth episode in the third season of ‘The Dark Side of the Ring’ docuseries, which focused on the infamous incident called: ‘The Plane Ride from Hell’.

Back in the early 2000s, WWE superstars and officials were traveling from the United Kingdom to the United States. On the flight, several wrestlers and officials got intoxicated, which led to a plethora of scandals.

However, WWE broadcaster Michael Hayes suffered a different fate. When Hayes passed out due to excessive alcohol consumption, WWE superstar X-Pac grabbed the scissors and cut off his ponytail.
