Alex Jones delights One Show fans by returning for ‘one day only’ after baby Annie’s arrival

Fans of The One Show were delighted to see presenter Alex Jones return for ‘one day only’ to make a special announcement.
The host welcomed her daughter Annie on August 21, and she’s been taking a well earned break since then to look after her third child with husband Charlie Thomson.
However, she made an appearance on Monday evening to update viewers on how she was doing, before talking about the show’s Chelsea Flower Show announcement.
‘It’s so nice to be back! We’ve been great. The boys have taken really well to little Annie brilliantly,’ she said about life with her new baby.
Revealing that her parents were there on set with her, she added: ‘She’s literally just gone back to Mum, I had to feed her.’
Appearing in a green dress for the occasion, she joked that she was ‘dressed for a wedding’.
Alex went on to appear in a section about The One Show’s Garden of hope which features in the prestigious annual event.
There were a number of special guests who saw the garden, including the likes of Dame Judi Dench and Bill Bailey.
Together with co-host Jermaine Jenas and Ronan Keating, she gave a tour of the garden and also told viewers that it will eventually move on to a mother and baby unit.
Viewers were delighted to see her back on their screens, with one writing: ‘Welcome back AlexSparkling heart you look amazing!’
‘How lovely to have @MissAlexjones back on the sofa, and looking AMAZING. Enjoy your maternity leave but please come back as soon as possible.’
It’s not the first surprise appearance she’s made on The One Show following the birth of her baby, after announcing her baby daughter’s name on air.

The TV presenter is currently on maternity leave from the BBC’s magazine programme after giving birth last month.
Returning via video call on a recent episode, Alex revealed when asked if she’s chosen a name: ‘Yes we have, her name is Annie.’
The One Show airs on weekdays at 7pm on BBC One.
