American Tennis Coach Disregards Emma Raducanu Comparsions with Venus and Serena Williams

Nicholas Bollettieri, an American tennis coach, has worked with some skilled players including Andre Agassi, Jim Courier, and Monica Seles. The pioneer who once coached the Williams’ sisters believes it was mental stability which maintained their dominance.

Serena Williams and Venus Williams are two of the greatest tennis players of all time, and it’s no coincidence. Both have extraordinary abilities and have worked extremely hard from a young age to achieve such superiority, but there’s more to the story. It’s hard to envisage any siblings surpassing the Williams sisters.

The former American coach has worked with several fine tennis players. He even had the opportunity to work with the Williams sisters. When asked by the Daily Mail for his thoughts on Emma Raducanu’s long-term chances, he stated it takes a lot more than skill to succeed. Bollettieri marked his words, citing Maria Sharapova, Serena Williams, and Venus Williams as examples.

Nicholas Bollettieri commented on Williams sisters by saying, “They had physical abilities beyond compare, but it was focus, not letting outside distractions overtake you.” The determination and mental strength kept them in dominance for so many years.

“Maria Sharapova, who arrived at my academy in Florida aged 8, was distinct from very young,” Bollettieri said. Since the age of 11 and 12, Sharapova was very ambitious and sidetracked all the distractions.
