Ariana Grande made her grand arrival on The Voice US overnight as Nick Jonas’s replacement and fans have gone wild.

The popstar wasted no time in getting stuck alongside her fellow celebrities John Legend, Kelly Clarkson and Blake Shelton on the panel.

During the season premiere, Ariana found herself pitted against Kelly and John for talented hopeful Katie Rae Mortimer, who wowed the crowd with a cover of Maren Morris’s The Bones.

Kelly bonded with the contestant over both having young sons, before Ariana made a tongue-in-cheek offer to have a baby for her if she joined her team.

When John made his pitch, the new judge interrupted by playing her hit Thank U, Next through the soundstage.

The move impressed defending champion Blake, who commented: ‘You can tell she’s been a fan of the show for a long time and she’s incredibly sneaky.’

Ariana got her wish and Katie became the first member of Team Ariana.

‘I trust your instincts,’ Ariana told the contestant. ‘I only want to help you execute your vision for yourself as an artist. I might be new here, but I have a lot of experience as well.

‘I’ve been through hell and back and I would love to work together and create and sing and be your coach.’

Ariana also added nurse Vaughn Mugol to her team after being impressed by his cover of Ed Sheeran’s The A Team.

Viewers were over the moon to see the pop legend on the team and welcomed her with open arms.

Showering her in praise, one enthused: ‘I love Ariana on #TheVoice! She fits so well and she’s adorable and funny. I love the chemistry between all four judges.’

‘I love Ariana so much,’ added another. ‘Omg she’s really gonna make a great coach she fits in so well as a judge and everyone loves her! Can’t wait for more tomorrow night.’

Elsewhere during the episode, the celebrity coaches were not contained to judging the talent on offer as they took to the stage for a performance of their own.

The foursome delivered an energetic mash-up of Aretha Franklin’s Respect and Sam And Dave’s Hold On, I’m Comin’.

The Voice airs on NBC in the US.
