Cake tins at the ready, Great British Bake Off is finally here and we can’t wait for it to start.

It hasn’t been the easiest year so having presenters Noel Fielding and Matt Lucas comforting the series 12 contestants as they try to impress judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith is just what the doctor ordered.

After the line-up was revealed last week, we only have a few more hours to go until they get told to bake for the very first time.

Here’s everything you need to know about Bake Off 2021.

What time is the Great British Bake Off on tonight?

GBBO kicks off tonight on Channel 4 at 8pm, and will be keeping us all on tenterhooks – and diving into the biscuit tin.

We have a bumper episode tonight, which finishes at 9.30pm.

Last year’s competition was won by Peter Sawkins, who became the youngest ever champion at 20.

He beat out stiff competition from Laura Adlington and Dave Friday for the title – and will be releasing his very first book of recipes next month.

Not too shabby.

What is the theme of tonight’s Great British Bake Off?

This year’s crop of bakers won’t be given an easy introduction into the tent, with the first week being based around cakes.

The heat will be on as GBBO fans will know how impressive those creations have been in the past.

Who could forget some of the celebrity busts the competitors whipped up last year? Actually it’s probably best not to mention some of those…

As in every year, they will be tasked with three challenges – the signature, technical and showstopper.

They will be battling it out for the title of Star Baker, and a coveted Hollywood handshake.

But will anyone be lucky enough to get both?

Great British Bake Off kicks off tonight at 8pm on Channel 4.
