Knockout Artist Edgar Berlanga to Fight on the Undercard of Tyson Fury vs Deontay Wilder 3

Edgar Berlanga will reportedly enter the ring against Argentine boxer Marcelo Esteban Coceres in the undercard of Tyson Fury vs Deontay Wilder 3 on October 9 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Following his first win in a non-knockout affair against Demond Nicholson, Puerto Rican KO-artist Berlanga can look to re-start his knockout streak.

That said, he had been in a full-length fight for the first time in his pro-career against Nicholson. Having claimed 16 first-round KOs in a record of 17-0, Berlanga is often compared with Mike Tyson, for his ability to stop his opponents. Hence, his nearing appearance can be a massive boost, as he will appear in one of the biggest boxing events of the year.

Heavyweight veterans Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder will end their heated rivalry in the main event for the WBC title in an epic trilogy clash.

Considering the magnitude of the main event, Edgar Berlanga will benefit from his appearance on the Top Rank-PBC event. And as Ring TV has broken the news to the mainstream audience, there is an added reason why fans should stick to the event.

As for now, Fury vs Wilder 3 has announced four heavyweight bouts and a super welterweight clash, apart from the main-event. Now, Berlanga vs Coceres might complete the card.

Edgar Berlanga vs Marcelo Esteban Coceres

Coceres will come in with an experience of 33 fights, holding a record of 30-2-1. He clearly has a lot more experience than Edgar Berlanga. Furthermore, ‘El Terrible’ has tested himself against some of the biggest names of boxing, like Billy Joe Saunders. Hence, Berlanga’s prowess may not be very unfamiliar to him.

However, as Coceres has claimed only 16 of his 31 wins via KO, Edgar Berlanga will clearly have the advantage in the KO department. This doesn’t take away Coceres’ chances of winning, as his numbers prove that he can win without going for the kill.

That said, Edgar Berlanga can also not afford to overlook his opponent and contract a loss, especially at a crucial stage of his career.
