“My Boxing Career Is Over” – Manny Pacquiao Officially Retires From the Sport

Manny Pacquiao had a stellar 25-year career inside the boxing ring. A journey that began in 1996 has finally ended in 2021. The Filipino legend will no longer step through the ropes as his political duties appear to have exceeded. 42-year-old Pacquiao has recently announced his bid for the Presidential election in his home country Philippines. Already a Senator of the nation, Pacquiao’s upcoming run will demand all his energies.

As for his in-ring journey, Manny Pacquiao has nothing left to achieve. Following his defeat against Yordenis Ugas for the WBA title, he had vowed to remain active. Nevertheless, Pacquiao has evoked retirement in interaction with Tony Gonzaga.

Manny Pacquiao said, “My boxing career is over. I’ve been boxing for a long time and my family would always tell me it’s time to stop. I was a kid selling bread before. If I told you I’d be world champion and known all over the world? You’d say that seems impossible.”
