F1 Twitter Goes on a Laugh Riot as Mercedes Asks for Bottas Memes
The Formula One Press Team seems to have taken on the responsibility to churn out meme materials after every GP. The 2021 Italian GP finished with Valtteri Bottas taking the 3rd podium place behind Ricciardo and Norris. During the post-race presentation ceremony, David Coulthard showed Bottas the footage of what turned out to be the biggest talking point of the weekend.
We are, of course, talking about the crash between Championship title-contenders Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen. And well, Bottas’ reaction was the most perfect meme material that F1 twitter could have expected.
Mercedes F1 team embraces the memes on Valtteri Bottas
The Mercedes F1 team was quick to jump at the opportunity to have a good laugh. They posted on Twitter a picture with Bottas’ reaction, and the screen behind him was replaced with a greenscreen.

They challenged the fans to come up with creative interpretations of what Bottas could have alternatively been reacting to. And the fans didn’t disappoint at all!
The memes ranged from Toto Wolff’s reaction to Bottas passing Perez and being overtaken again in the very next corner to Bottas defying team orders to put in the faster lap at Zandvoort.

One of the memes which clearly stood out was a reference to when the F1 media team messed up big time at Monaco. They cut away the camera from the only wheel to wheel fight in the Monaco GP to show random footage of Lance Stroll.

Referencing memes inside memes –Memeception?
Fans got even more creative as they went to the lengths of referencing old memes inside the new template.
This one is a reference to some previous press conference where a journalist asked an insanely long question to the drivers, to which the drivers had no reply. Because, well, no one could concentrate long enough to listen till the end.
