“It Becomes Into More of a Dog Fight” – Josh Taylor Gives His Predictions on the Terence Crawford vs Shawn Porter Fight

The undisputed light-welterweight champion of the world took a well-deserved break from training. Earlier this year, Scott became the first Brit to become a four-belt undisputed champion. After his win against Jose Ramirez and the subsequent media attention,  Josh Taylor took some time away from training.

He’s now back in the gym, and in a recent interview with Behind the Gloves hosted by Michelle Joy Phelps, Taylor gave his predictions on the Crawford vs Porter fight. “I think Crawford should win that fight on boxing ability. You know, Porter is a hard night’s work for anybody.

“He makes it very physical, he makes it very tough, hard pace. So sometimes boxing goes out of the window and it becomes into more of a dogfight with Shawn Porter. But I think Crawford’s boxing brain will come out on top in that fight, eventually,” Taylor said when Michelle asked him who he thinks will win.

‘The Tartan Tornado’ will now look to defend all his belts and stay undefeated. He has a massive target on his back with a lot of fighters eyeing his belts, so the 30-year-old will have to stay at the top of his game to ensure that he remains undefeated.

What’s next for ‘The Tartan Tornado’ Josh Taylor?

Taylor has a couple of options going ahead. He can stay at 140 and take on the WBO mandatory challenger, the undefeated Jack Catterall, or the undisputed lightweight champion Teofimo Lopez, who plans to move up in weight classes.

Another option Taylor has would be to vacate his belts and move up to Welterweight to take on Terence ‘Bud’ Crawford, the WBO titleholder. This fight makes a lot of sense for both fighters, who are promoted by Top Rank. Taylor will get to make history and face one of the most decorated active boxers.

Crawford, on the other hand, will get to fight someone who can actually give him problems, and the fans would actually get a fight they want to watch. Who do you think Taylor should fight next?
