Lewis Hamilton Pinpoints His Sweetest F1 Victory of All-Time

Seven-time World Champion Lewis Hamilton has secured a staggering 99 Grand Prix victories throughout his illustrious career. However, there are always some victories that are sweeter than the rest. Leading up to the Russian GP at Sochi, Lewis sat down with Petronas Motorsports and revealed his favorite win of all time.

Choosing one win from a list of ninety-nine is tough 

Lewis Hamilton made his debut in Formula One in the year 2007. Since then, he has racked up a record 101 pole positions, 99 race victories, and 7 Drivers’ Championships. Choosing one favorite win among so many was a difficult job.

“Dude, I’ve been racing for 28 years, so it’s almost impossible to say”, said Hamilton.

However, he mentioned one race that he always looks back to. “I always look back at, like, things like my first win. Canada 2007. Because it…I didn’t know whether it was going to happen.”, said Lewis Hamilton.

He went on to explain why it is the most memorable victory in his career, “Just getting to Formula One was already a big step, but then being in the midst of the season and up against a two-time World Champion, all unexpected, still didn’t know whether I could win in a Grand Prix although I believed it the whole time, it was real confirmation. That with hard work and dedication and with my ability there wasn’t really a lot that I couldn’t do.”

Even though Hamilton has claimed victory after victory, most of it has been quite unchallenged. With Mercedes dominating the Hybrid Era, no constructor has been able to even match the pace of the Mercedes Car. However, that is not the case anymore. For the first time since Nico Rosberg, Hamilton is being challenged by a driver with a nearly equal car.

Red Bull has finally managed to catch up to the Mercedes and has provided Max Verstappen with a car that can win the World Championship. And Verstappen isn’t someone who will disappoint.

Lewis will have to dig deep and fight hard to maintain his stronghold on the throne of Formula One. Only time will tell if he will be able to do that.
