FIFA 22 companion app UK release date: When can you start playing?

FIFA 22 – the apps are out already (pic: EA)

The game itself isn’t officially out yet but the FUT companion app for FIFA 22 is already available to use from today.

FIFA Ultimate Team, the cross between fantasy football and Panini sticker books, has long been the most important part of the FIFA games as far as many players are concerned.

It’s certainly been the number one profit driver for publisher EA, to the point where they’re now rumoured to be making FIFA 23 free-to-play as a result of the mode’s popularity.

So while FIFA 22 isn’t quite out yet (it’s official release date is Friday, October 1 but there are ways to get early access here) the new version of the FUT Web App is already out and the official FIFA 22 Companion app should be available later today.

What time is the FIFA 22 Companion app released?

EA hasn’t stated an official time for the launch, just at some point during Thursday, September 23. They do tend to upload around 6pm though, so check back around then and you should find it on the Apple App Store and Google Play.

The FUT 22 Web App is already live and you can access that here. Naturally, both apps are free to use and don’t require the game to run.

How does the FIFA 22 app work?

Although there’s nothing you can do in the app that can’t also be done in the game, the fact that it’s out first does mean you can set up your squad in preparation.

It’s also possible to customise your FUT stadium, including changing the music, goal celebrations and more.

Importantly, you can buy and sell players on the transfer market too, and buy more FUT cards online. So if you’re keen to be on top of the game before it’s even out now is your chance.
