Strictly Come Dancing 2021: Tilly Ramsay insists she ‘definitely feels safe’ on set of show amid vaccine drama

Tilly Ramsay has insisted she ‘definitely feels safe’ starring on Strictly Come Dancing amid the series being thrown into chaos by stars refusing to get vaccinated.
Reports claim three professional dancers have ‘refused’ to get their Covid jab and it’s causing ‘resentment’ among the cast and crew.
During an appearance on ITV’s Lorraine on Thursday morning, Tilly, 19, who is starring on this year’s series, was asked about the situation on set.
Asked if she feels ‘safe’ amid the vaccine drama allegedly playing out behind closed doors, Tilly assured host Lorraine Kelly: ‘It definitely is safe.’
‘It’s just amazing that they’ve been able to put this show on,’ the teen added.
‘They’re working hard to keep everyone safe and we definitely do feel safe.’

Insiders recently claimed that a third pro, who has been matched with a celebrity contestant, is the latest to refuse the vaccine, after two dancers had already said no to the jab.
They alleged that dancers do not have to revealed to bosses whether they’ve been vaccinated or not, but the decision not to is beginning to cause tensions among the cast and crew.
The reports came after it was revealed another pro dancer had tested positive for coronavirus.

Insiders have claimed that the star, who has been matched up with a celebrity partner, is causing ‘resentment’ among the cast and crew over their refusal to have the jab.

The dancer, however, does not have to reveal to bosses whether they’ve been vaccinated.
The news comes just days after it was learned that two pros have already rejected the jab and another tested positive for coronavirus.
‘Producers are dreading an outbreak of Covid on the new series, which is a crucial part of the autumn schedule,’ a source said.
They added to The Sun: ‘They are taking every possible precaution to make the set as safe as possible, particularly as the studio audience is returning.’
A Strictly spokesperson, meanwhile, said: ‘We do not comment on speculation of somebody’s Covid vaccination status.
‘Strictly Come Dancing production has, and will, continue to follow strict government guidelines to ensure the safety of all on the show.’

Elsewhere in Tilly’s TV interview, she revealed that her famous dad Gordon Ramsay, is ‘very proud’ of her starring in the competition this year.
‘Him and mum are very proud, they’re kinda like rather you than us because it’s quite terrifying,’ she joked.
Tilly is set to perform for the first time on Saturday night’s live show, where she’ll take to the dance floor with partner Nikita Kuzmin to perform the waltz to Camila Cabello track Consequences.
Tilly revealed she was looking forward to getting all dressed up for her Strictly debut, as she confessed: ‘It’s so not me to have all the big hair and make-up and dresses, it’s so out of my comfort zone, but I love it.’
Strictly Come Dancing airs on Saturday at 7.30pm on BBC One.
