Teofimo Lopez Agrees to Move George Kambosos Jr. Fight to October 16

It seems like the Teofimo Lopez vs George Kambosos Jr.’s boxing fight has a dark cloud cast over it. Until now, this contest has witnessed four major date changes and now, the organizers of this fight, Triller, are on the brink of moving this bout to another date.

Earlier, this fight was set to take place on June 5. But it later got shifted to June 19. However, this contest failed to materialize on this date too, as the champ Lopez tested positive for Covid-19. Consequently, the fight was shifted to August 14.

But once again, fans were left disheartened as they witnessed another change. While Triller was hell-bent on scheduling this fight for 4th October, due to some glitches, this fight may finally go down on October 16th.

Teofimo Lopez has signed a contract allowing his lightweight title fight vs. George Kambosos to move from Oct. 4 at Hulu Theater at MSG, to Oct. 16 at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, Ryan Kavanaugh and Teofimo Lopez Sr. told @MikeCoppinger.

The champ Lopez has reportedly signed the contract for moving this fight to October 16 altogether. Whereas Kambosos Jr. is yet to sign the deal.

The hardcore followers of the sport have been closely following the developments regarding this fight since its announcement. Everyone seemed ecstatic about this bout as they felt Kambosos Jr. would put on a good fight for Lopez’s first prime title defense.

But nobody knew what was on the way, and how will things turn out for this fight. That said, the fight fraternity is already losing its excitement for this contest. And Triller will have to find a way out as soon as possible.
