UFC 266: Alexander Volkanovski vs Brian Ortega- Prediction and Analysis

The UFC 266 pay-per-view this weekend will be headlined by a featherweight title fight between Alexander Volkanovski and Brian Ortega. Volkanovski, the current champion of the division, will look to make his second title defense having already defeated Max Holloway in their rematch since winning the belt. Ortega will look to make his second opportunity count.

Volkanovski is currently riding a 19-fight winning streak in the featherweight division. He is unbeaten in the UFC as well and has defeated some of the greatest featherweights in the history of the promotion in Jose Aldo, Chad Mendes, Max Holloway, and more. He will look to advance another step forward with a win over Ortega.

As for the challenger Ortega, he has been absolutely phenomenal in his career as well. His only loss has come against the consensus greatest featherweight of all time, Max Holloway. ‘T-City’ has since fought once against Chan Sung Jung. He was a new version of himself in that fight having outclassed Zombie over 3-rounds.

T-City‘ has said he will be looking for a finish when he takes on Volkanovski this weekend. However, it will be easier said than done against one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world. Volkanovski might just be too complete and technical to be beaten at this point in time and he should get a decision win in his favor.

Final Prediction: Alexander ‘The Great‘ Volkanovski by unanimous decision.
