OJ Simpson: ‘Aaron Rodgers Must be the Happiest Guy in Football Today’ After Packers Win

The world watched as Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers crumbled in their opening day loss to the New Orleans Saints. Many counted them out, but Rodgers fired back instantly. With two wins on the trot, the Packers and their quarterback are charting their course to the playoffs. They have also grabbed the attention of former 5-time Pro Bowler OJ Simpson.

OJ Simpson has some big words for Aaron Rodgers

Despite retiring in 1979, the Juice still remains up to date about the current happenings in the NFL. The former running back even has a fantasy team set up, about which he provides weekly updates on his Twitter account. After a blockbuster weekend of football, OJ had a lot to say.

First, he praised Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers. Despite being from the Bay Area and a 49ers fan, OJ had nothing but good things to say about Rodgers.

“Aaron Rodgers must be the happiest guy in football today. The 49ers is the team he wanted to be drafted by. He wanted to get traded to them on this offseason. He hasn’t been able to beat them during most of his career. He’s from the Bay Area but today; he beat them last night, and I’m kind of happy for him.”

OJ claimed the only guys happier than him in the NFL right now are Justin Tucker, Matthew Stafford and Sam Darnold. Tucker scored a monstrous 66-yard field goal, setting an NFL record. Sam Darnold and Matthew Stafford lead two unbeaten sides in Carolina Panthers and Los Angeles Rams, respectively.

It’s tough to judge a team’s success based on an opening day loss. Many teams have overcome their early deficits to go all the way and win championships. However, the state of affairs in the Green Bay Packers locker room was in shambles. After a humiliating 38-3 loss against the New Orleans Saints, every person associated with the Packers began panicking, except for one.

Aaron Rodgers urged his teammates to keep a cool head and not freak out over their opening day loss. He claimed freaking out would only make matters worse, and the locker room mentality could not suffer anymore. Well, it worked out pretty well for them as they’ve picked up two crucial wins on the road.

After dispatching the Detroit Lions, the Packers relied heavily on their defence to carry them all the way. Mason Crosby also came in clutch, scoring a 51-yard winning field goal. Last but not the least, we can never disregard the role Aaron Rodgers has played in pulling this team together.
