Peyton Manning Believes He Would Have Formed a Lethal Connection With LeBron James in NFL

When Anthony Edwards became the #1 draft pick, everyone started digging into his connection with football. Turned out he is an ideal two-sport athlete who once loved Football much better. It was only after he saw his brothers hooping that he got drawn towards b’ball. Does this story sound somewhat similar to how LeBron James changed the course of his career? Definitely!

LeBron James stopped playing football only in the summer following his junior year. Prior to that, he was growing as a promising wide receiver and people from the football fraternity had their eyes on him. So what led to King James dropping his probable first love?

Former Super Bowl Champion with a wild comment on LeBron James

In a recent interview with Peyton Manning, LeBron James acknowledged an old video of him playing basketball and reacted to it. In the video, #9 Bron was quadruple-teamed as he received a not-so-good pass. Perhaps this is why a double/triple-team on him does not do much good to the opposition in the NBA too.

But reacting to the video, a hilarious LBJ jokingly said, “Listen if I would have had a better quarterback in high school, I might would have continued to play football. But I took way too many hits that led me to the basketball court.”

“Tight end, 6’8″, 250.”

Even the 45-YO American star quarterback Peyton agreed with LeBron’s potential. He added, “I would have thrown so many touchdowns to LeBron down there in the in zone. Put ‘em on line, throw the fade, jump balls… 75 touchdowns.”

This, coming from an 18-year veteran and one of the all-time great quarterbacks must’ve gotten even King James wondering a big ‘what-if’.

LBJ reliving his football days this offseason

In the past week, the 4x NBA Champion showed up at two of the LA Rams games. Plus, in his very recent Twitter post, the 36-YO expressed his love for the sport. He shared a video where the clip moderator claims he could’ve been a sophomore/junior year draft if he had decent coaching.

In his junior days, a young Bron had 1160 yards and 16 touchdowns to his name. In fact, his team was an impressive 10-4 that season and if it was not for an AAU wrist injury, Bron would’ve continued playing.

Then later, he again had an opportunity to join the footballing world in 2011, which he declined. He did it for good or who knows if winning those consecutive titles with the Heat would’ve been possible or not.
