Giannis Antetokounmpo Explains How He and His Wife Play ‘Man to Man’ Defense Following Birth of Second Child

Giannis Antetokounmpo is a family man and there’s no doubting that. He had once stated how he’d trade his NBA career if he could somehow bring his father back to life. His way of backing up his brothers is another proof of his inclination towards building a ‘Kounmpo’ empire. But a new Antetkounmpo in his life has just made his job a little trickier.

The Freak is in a long-term love relationship with Mariah Riddlesprigger. In February 2020, the couple welcomed their first baby in Liam and that got some added responsibility in Giannis’s life. However, the hysterical Bucks leader never compromised with any of his roles and always dealt with things pretty smoothly. But with the second kid, are things changing?

Giannis Antetokounmpo and his new-found trouble

Mariah had earlier in May revealed that she’s expecting a baby. Then in late August, the paparazzi captured the couple at Mayfair Mall with a baby in tow. That’s when the media had first published the speculations that Giannis has become a father for the second time. 

But it only got an official nod when the Freak posted a story, holding both his kids, and a text saying, “Love my boys”. So in a recent interview, the journalist enquired if the 2x MVP is into changing diapers or not.

With a huge smile on his face, the 26-YO funnily responded with a sports analogy. He expressed,  “Before, we were playing zone defense. So it was me and Mariah, we had Liam in the middle. So it was just, taking turns. But now, it’s man to man. It’s off. I enjoy it, I love it. I definitely change more diapers [chuckes], those are tough…”

Well, the Freak no more needs dumbbells in his life because most of the time it would be Liam and the unnamed cute newborn in his hands.

When the Greek Freak joked about Liam making a girlfriend move

Last year, a video of Giannis Antetokounmpo in his car went viral. In the video, he was holding Liam in his hands while the baby boy was busy looking outside of the window. That’s when Giannis noticed something and made a joke his baby’s mother didn’t like.

Talking to Liam, the Freak said, “Momma is not here. Let’s talk a little bit about how you’re looking at that girl. You’re still looking at that girl. Liam, is she beautiful? Do you want us go talk to her?”

The NBA champion is certainly the funniest player around and his kids are extremely lucky to have one such dashing dad. We wish Giannis all the luck with the diapers and the cleaning.
