“I’m at Peace With It”- Manny Pacquiao Details the Hardest Decision He Has Ever Made

Boxing has never seen a star as humble and centered as Manny Pacquiao. The 42-year-old, in his prolonged career, achieved umpteen accolades. ‘Pac-Man’ even became the only eight-division champion. Apart from showing his character within the ropes, Pacquiao even showed immense character outside the sport. He always stayed on his toes to help the needy.

But even the boxing veteran has had some hard decisions to make. Recently, the now-former boxer shed some light on the hardest decision he has ever made in his life.

He tweeted, “To the greatest fans and the greatest sport in the world, thank you! Thank you for all the wonderful memories. This is the hardest decision I’ve ever made, but I’m at peace with it. Chase your dreams, work hard, and watch what happens. Good bye boxing.”

Pacquiao hinted at retirement from the sport a few days back, but with this tweet, he made the news official to his fans.

In August 2021, the Filipino Senator fought after a two-year hiatus against the WBA welterweight ‘super’ champ, Yordenis Ugas. Everyone wanted the sentimental favorite to clinch a win.

Unfortunately for them, Ugas, who seemed too good for Pacquiao, didn’t let the Senator dictate the pace of the fight. As a result, the 42-year-old succumbed to a unanimous decision loss, in what turned out to be his last dance.

What’s next for Manny Pacquiao?

Manny Pacquiao, who is a prime name in the Philippines politics, announced his bid for the Presidency a few days back. Even during his boxing career, ‘Pac-Man’ did justice to his duties as a Senator. But now, the boxing legend will look to give his best for his country in a full-fledged manner.
