Why did Katie Price lose her driving licence?

Katie Price‘s latest driving ban came after she failed to tell police who was behind the wheel of her pink Range Rover when it crashed in south east London.

The star was charged with withholding the name of the driver and she landed a two-year driving ban, reduced to 18 months, in 2019.

When was Katie Price due to get her driving licence back?

Katie had expected to get her driving licence back in April 2021, but was banned for a further six months following an admin bungle.

When she rang the DVLA to arrange her new licence earlier this year, she was told to serve another six months due to totting up another offence for speeding.

However, it is understood the forms Katie needed to complete after the conviction were delivered to an old address.

Her licence is understood to have been scheduled for reinstatement on October 13 this year.

Katie Price’s driving history

2003

Katie Price escaped a speeding charge after police failed to arrest her within 12 weeks of allegedly clocking 70mph in a 40mph zone in her Range Rover on October 3.

2008

After talking on the mobile phone while driving on April 18, Price landed three penalty points.

2009

Price failed to provide the identity of the driver after her car was allegedly caught speeding in a 30mph zone, but she was let off on a legal technicality.

She later clocked 99mph and was handed four points on her licence.

Her lawyers argued she was only speeding to get away from paparazzi, but police said there were no other speeding vehicles around.

2010

Price was convicted for failing to be in proper control of her horsebox after veering into another lane in February and was given three points on her licence, bringing her total to 10.

The former Loose Women panellist was then in December banned from driving for six months after doing 83mph in a 70mph zone in her home county of West Sussex.

2012

Two years later, Katie was disqualified for 12 months for failing to respond to two speeding tickets in September.

2018

Katie landed a six-month ban in February 2018 for speeding after totting up 12 penalty points.

She is understood to have been caught doing 60mph on the 50mph A24 in West Sussex.

In July, photos emerged of her driving while still banned.

She insisted she thought her ban was over and handed herself in to police.

A month later, she crashed her Range Rover while allegedly on her mobile phone.

Then in October she spent 13 hours in police custody after being arrested on suspicion of drink driving.

The former glamour model was breath-tested after her pink Range Rover crashed into a VW Golf and a hedge on a gated estate at 2am.

She had been out celebrating her ex-boyfriend Kris Boyson’s birthday before the alleged crash that saw her £75,000 car damaged and debris littered across the road.

After her arrest, Price spent the night in a cell at Plumstead police station, south east London, before she was released under investigation via a rear exit around 3.30pm.

2019

In 2019, she was given a three-month ban for driving while disqualified in January of that year.

And then in October, Price was banned from driving for 18 months for failing to inform police who was behind the wheel of her pink Range Rover during a crash in Bexley, south east London.

2021

On September 28, Price was rushed to hospital after a dramatic ‘drug and drink-drive’ crash that could leave her facing jail, The Sun revealed.

The star, who is understood to be banned from driving, may now face jail time.

She is already thought to be serving a driving ban and was not due to get her licence back until 13 October this year.

Her family have shared a message saying their “worst fears nearly came true” in her alleged “drink-drive” crash.
