WWE star Sheamus breaks nose again and shares photo after second surgery this year

WWE superstar Sheamus has undergone surgery after breaking his nose for the second time this year.

The Celtic Warrior – who has been wearing a protective mask after suffering the first injury in June – has revealed he’s back in hospital again after getting hurt earlier this month.

Clearly still in good spirits and ready to crack a joke, he shared a selfie of himself in a gown and shower cap, and wrote: ‘Once more unto the breach dear friends.. 2x wwe [nose] job champion.’

He then posted another snap of him with support over and under his nose, flashing a thumbs up for the camera.

On Monday night, Sheamus went to battle with Damian Priest over the latter’s United States Championship, and he described the bout as a ‘banger’.

However, the injury actually happened after he faced Jeff Hardy on the September 20 episode of Raw, when his mask fell off during the clash.

Sharing a brutal backstage snap as he had an ice pack to his face with dried blood on his hand, he tweeted: ‘..the mask came off.. jeff rebroke my nose.. then priest attacked me.. retribution is coming lads #WWERaw (sic)’

Despite the injury, Sheamus would go onto face both men in a Triple Threat at Extreme Rules over the weekend, and he still fought Priest in their No Disqualification match the next night.

However, with his feud with the Archer of Infamy seemingly wrapped up before the WWE Draft – which starts on Friday’s SmackDown and ends on next week’s Raw – this could be a good time for him to step away and heal up.

Of course, he didn’t really miss any time in the first place so there’s every chance the surgery – and mask – will allow him to keep appearing on whatever brand he’s on after the reshuffle.

He’s not the only star to be seemingly banged up this week, as WWE has reported that Eva Marie – like Nia Jax last week – has been injured after an attack from Shayna Baszler.

The different here is that given the Queen of Spade’s renewed attitude and the growing path of destruction in her wake, it remains to be seen if these are legit or just for storyline purposes.

*WWE Raw airs Mondays at 1am on BT Sport 1. Tickets are available now for the final WWE Live UK shows of 2021 as the company returns in November for an-eight date run.
