LPGA Tour Beautifully Honors the 13 Founding Members at Cognizant Founders Cup

Over 70 years ago, the LPGA came into existence. Today, with players like Nelly Korda, Jin Young Ko, Inbee Park, and Lexi Thompson, the Tour has come a long way. As days pass, the popularity of the LPGA Tour has also soared receiving support from golf fans and PGA Tour stars at the same time.

This week at the Cognizant Founders Cup, women who founded the LPGA were honored.

It goes without saying that the Founders Cup meant to honor all those women who came together and found LPGA was the perfect event for this tribute.

A completely different generation heads the LPGA Tour today. And players from all over the world are playing well and impressing those watching. New events and series have been introduced, which is only proof of how far the organization has come. However, it all began because of a group of 15 women who came together to start something special.

The video they share shows various moments from history, a voice narrating the LPGA’s story. This tribute is for those 13 women who went above and beyond to have a league of their own in 1950. “They helped put female sports on the map. Today, see what the LPGA has become since founders brought it to life 70 years ago”.
