Video: Fan Severely Bleeds From His Head After Getting Hit by Hideki Matsuyama’s Tee Shot

Golf is a sport where fans are walking or sitting on the playing field itself. Hence, they need to be vigilant all the time, as even slight negligence can cost them dearly. Due to this, every golfer has to yell ‘Fore’ whenever their shots go wayward. However, few times, even after shouting, it is hard for the fans to detect the path of the ball suddenly. And Hideki Matsuyama knows this very well because of one recent incident.

Meanwhile, a similar thing happened at TPC Summerlin. The host for the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open.

Hideki Matsuyama injures a fan with his tee shot

Hideki Matsuyama is currently competing at the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open. However, he shot an errant tee shot on a moving day, which ended up smashing a fan on his hand. The blood was flowing from his head, but the fan gracefully accepted it as a part of the game.

I was standing next to this guy when he got hit in the head by Matsuyama’s 300 yard drive. He took it like a champ! Hideki signed a hat and glove for him. The guy told Hideki not to worry about it and continue playing golf. The medics arrived shortly after. pic.twitter.com/QxY6NS2cLG

Moreover, another fan present there shared a video on Twitter about this incident with a caption. “I was standing next to this guy when he got hit in the head by Matsuyama’s 300-yard drive. He took it like a champ! Hideki signed a hat and glove for him. The guy told Hideki not to worry about it and continue playing golf. The medics arrived shortly after.”

Hideki was in shock and was disappointed with this unfortunate incident. So he signed a cap and glove for the injured fan. The fan, though, took it all very well as he called the incident a part of the game and asked Hideki not to worry about it even though blood was dripping from his head. This shows how much mutual respect these players and fans share with each other.

Meanwhile, Hideki has had a disappointing event as he finished T65 with a score of -4. The 2021 Masters Champion looked totally out of sync with his game and was struggling with every club. But he is still hopeful of getting back in form before the CJ Cup begins next week at Summit Club in Las Vegas.
