Carrie and Big return to that Paris bridge for And Just Like That… and it’s a major throwback

As if the concept of a Sex and the City reboot wasn’t nostalgic enough, Carrie Bradshaw and Mr Big have returned to a bridge in Paris.

It’s 2004 all over again.

Sarah Jessica Parker and Chris Noth have been pictured filming scenes for And Just Like That… on the Pont des Arts, recreating a scene from the Sex and the City finale 15 years ago.

Sarah, 56, wore a voluminous floral tea dress with a cropped lace jacket and carried a clutch bag as she morphed back into her fashionista alter ego.

When the cameras weren’t on, the actress was bundled up in a large padded jacket, and held a model of the Eiffel Tower.

Meanwhile, Chris, 66, was dashing in a dark suit, with the actors looking solemn as they filmed a scene on the bridge.

The setting will be familiar to fans of the original run, as Big finally confessed his love for Carrie on the very same bridge when he followed her to Paris to win her back from Alexander Petrovsky (Mikhail Baryshnikov).

It’s no coincidence that the Pont des Arts was chosen again, but we’ll have to wait until December to see the significance – and whether it’s as romantic a moment as last time.

We already know that the show will include some throwbacks, with Bridget Moynahan returning to play Big’s ex-wife Natasha, and John Corbett back to play Aidan Shaw.

The characters’ return has fans wondering whether Big and Carrie’s relationship could hit the rocks yet again.

The first Sex and the City movie in 2008 saw Big abandon Carrie at the altar, before they reconnected and tied the knot at City Hall.

The much-maligned 2010 sequel saw the couple stuck in a rut, and Carrie kissing her ex Aidan in Abu Dhabi, before Big reacted by… buying her an engagement ring? Yeah, we didn’t get it either.

SJP, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon are back to play Carrie, Charlotte York and Miranda Hobbes, with Evan Handler also returning to play Charlotte’s husband Harry and David Eigenberg back as Miranda’s husband Steve.

However, Kim Cattrall chose not to return as Samantha Jones, leaving fans suggesting whether the character will be killed off.

It is believed that Willie Garson’s sad death during filming will not be addressed in the series, as he had filmed most of his scenes as Stanford Blatch.

And Just Like That… airs on HBO Max this December.
