Did James Ennis Subtly Call Out Lakers Following Their Preseason Defeat Against Suns?
The Lakers preseason horror dream continues as they lose to the Phoenix Suns. There is a clear lack of chemistry and players aren’t playing at their best. Russell Westbrook had yet another bad start for his hometown and his concerns keep growing with each day. Looking at their situation, what could possibly be done?
The Los Angeles Lakers were active all throughout free agency. They introduced many new faces and expectations were very high. However, things have gone totally south considering the talent they signed up in the off season. Only a few players have stepped up every game and that has been the basic story of the Lakers’ preseason.

Now, one player has come up and asked the organisation to sign him up.

James Ennis wants Lakers to sign him?
While this may be just the preseason, the concerns arising are quite critical. The Lakers have failed to play as a team and their results are proof. Building chemistry is no easy task and the purple and gold are still in process to develop the right coordination. But another concern for them has been their defense. The Lakers have considered points like a river flowing in the second half of the games.
The game is much more about offense and all teams are well versed with it. But in the era of offense, getting stops is very critical in order to win. The Lakers have failed at achieving that. Now, James Ennis who was heavily linked with the organisation may be giving them another chance to sign him up.

Right after the Lakers’ embarrassing loss to Phoenix, Ennis put out a tweet saying sign him because he plays defense. While he didn’t mention any team, the signs do point towards him calling out the LA team to finally make their move. The organisation does have a spot open, hence it could be done. But more players would only mean more time in getting the chemistry on point.
But there is no doubt that Ennis would bring a lot to the Lakers. His main asset is his three point shooting. Last season, the 31 YO improved to 43% while shooting from three. However, his signing seems highly unlikely as the Lakers will look to stick to their preseason roster as the final roster.
