Piers Morgan makes not-so subtle dig at Alex Beresford as bitter Good Morning Britain feud rages on

Piers Morgan couldn’t resist having another pop at his former colleague Alex Beresford, months after storming off Good Morning Britain over a row.

Back in March, Piers notoriously quit Good Morning Britain hours after Alex called him out for dismissing Meghan Markle’s claims she was ignored by Buckingham Palace when she pleaded for help with her crumbling mental health.

However, it seems Piers is still bitter, even using a post celebrating GMB meteorologist Laura Tobin’s 40th birthday to take a swipe at Alex.

‘Happy 40th Birthday to the fabulous @Lauratobin1,’ Piers tweeted.

Commenting on her look in a previous photo he shared with the birthday girl in a fierce pair of red leather trousers, he added: ‘Brilliant meteorologist, possessor of leather trousers (no apologies to any wokies offended and thoroughly decent & loyal (ex) colleague.

‘My kinda weather presenter.’

Piers continues to goad Alex regularly, recently suggesting he should have head-butted the ‘deputy stand-in weather guy’ instead of storming off GMB.

‘I shouldn’t have walked off when I did… because the deputy stand-in weather guy says something annoying,’ he told The Mirror.

‘It was either that or give him a Glasgow kiss [headbutt]. I decided that wouldn’t go down very well.’

Confirming they haven’t spoken at all since his exit from Good Morning Britain, he added: ‘He was annoying enough when I worked with him – why would I bother now?’

While speculation surrounding Piers’ next major move after Good Morning Britain has been non-stop since his March departure, he finally confirmed he’s reuniting with mogul Rupert Murdoch for a primetime slot on the upcoming News UK channel.

He’s already poached GMB director Erron Gordon. Somehow, it feels as though Alex won’t be jumping ship too.

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
