“The Easiest Way Out” – Sebastian Vettel Sheds Light on His Career Plans After F1

Throughout his career in F1, Sebastian Vettel has shown various aspects of his multi-faceted personality. While he carries a long list of accomplishments on-track, he is also one of the most loved personalities by fans across the world.

At 34 years of age, many may wonder where his future lies beyond F1. During a recent interview, the German hinted at what that next step could be sometime down the line.

Sebastian Vettel hints at a future in media

While the German features among the most popular drivers on the grid, he doesn’t have any social media accounts of his own. This may still surprise many, especially since he’s quite an outspoken individual on various topics around the sport.

Despite his choice to stay away from social networking platforms, Vettel admitted he would consider a future as a reporter. In a recent interview with Motorsport-Total, the 34-year-old spoke about how this would help him stay in touch with the sport he loves.

He said“I have a lot of interests. In general, I let myself be carried away easily by passionate people. Even if they are things that I don’t really like, I can easily develop a new passion. You have to wait and see how sustainable that is.

I can understand that finding something else is a big challenge. The easiest way out would be to become a Sky reporter and stay in the same place for how many years. I can’t exactly imagine that, but who knows.”

The German also added more on his thoughts about the future, mentioning how he hopes to balance his love for F1 with caring for his family.

“You know, I love the sporty side, and you don’t want to turn your back on the sport and say ‘never again’. So you never know what’s going to happen,” said the 34-year-old.

“But I think it’s important to think about what happens afterwards There are already different things to do. I also have a family. So it’s pretty easy to take care of other things if I should retire.”

Many would believe Vettel can pursue almost any route to stay connected with the sport. However, the 34-year-old will look to continue driving in the pinnacle of motor sport for as long as he can. With Aston Martin confirming he will be on the grid next year, the four-time world champion will look to end 2021 on a high.
