What is Sky Glass TV and how much does it cost?
CHRISTMAS has come early: Sky Glass is a new television that lets you watch the service WITHOUT a satellite dish.
The impressive Sky Glass TV was revealed during a special event in early October – wrapping a television and a Sky box into one.

What is Sky Glass TV?
Sky Glass is a brand new (and the very first) TV from Sky – out October 18.
It’s designed as a slicker and easier alternative to Sky Q.
Normally with Sky Q, you’d need a set-top box and subscription, your own TV, and then a satellite dish attached to your home.
With Sky Glass, you just need a subscription and a power plug.
Sky is totally built into the TV so you get all the main channels, plus apps and games too.
It’s a 4K Ultra HD Quantum Dot TV and supports Dolby Atmos and HDR (including HLG, HDR10 and Dolby Vision).

The design is slick with an anodised aluminium frame, plus five colour options including blue, black and racing green.
It comes in three sizes: 43-inch, 55-inch and 65-inch.
The main advantage is you don’t need a satellite dish – as the gadget works totally over WiFi.
Installing a Sky dish isn’t always ideal.
Some people don’t like how they look, and others simply can’t install them.
And having to make changes to your property just to watch TV feels like a relic of the past.
The new Sky Glass TV is a full Sky Q offering – just over the internet instead.
So you can still watch regular channels, and even record content.
You’ll also get access to the same catch-up and on-demand apps like Netflix and Disney+.
Sky Glass TV price – how much does it cost?
The 43-inch model is £649 or £13 a month, while the 55-inch model costs £849 or £17 a month.
For the top model, you’ll pay £1,049 or £21 a month.
If you bundle in the Sky Ultimate TV package, the price rises to £39 a month.
That gets you all the main channels, Sky Originals and Sky Exclusives, as well as Netflix.
By comparison, current Sky Q costs £26 a month for 18 months – with up to £49 in setup fees.
Sky Glass Multiroom
For an extra tenner, you can get a Sky streaming puck, which will let you put Sky on the other TVs in your home.
That means you don’t have to pay for a Sky Glass in every room.
Of course, you’ll still need at least one Sky Glass in the home.
The pucks won’t work without a Sky Glass TV, so purchasing one is essential.
In Spring next year, Sky will also be flogging a smart camera add-on for the top of the TV.
It allows for video calls, interactive games like Fruit Ninja, and shared watching with pals.
Where to buy the Sky Glass
It probably comes as no surprise that you’ll need to head to the Sky website to pre-register your interest in the Sky Glass.
At the moment, this is the only place online where it’s available to buy, but we imagine other retailers will soon be stocking Sky’s first television.
Here’s a run-down of the various packages Sky is offering with the Glass, which vary depending on the number of services and the size of the TV that you’re after.
The prices below are for a 43-inch Glass.
