DISASTER! Roger Federer Earns 180 Points in Grand slams, Rafael Nadal and Dominic Thiem Earn 0 Points

While Novak Djokovic has enjoyed tremendous success on tour this season, it hasn’t been a great year for either Rafael Nadal or Roger Federer. Even though Rafa somehow won a Masters 1000 tournament this year, the Swiss Maestro failed to get his hands on any title in 2021.

It is because of this reason that Novak Djokovic, with 20 majors, has now tied Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal in the Grand Slam tally.

Poor show of Rafael Nadal at the Grand Slams

If one does an analysis of the points earned by both Nadal and Federer this year, he’ll get to some shocking figures. Interestingly, Rafa didn’t manage to earn any ATP points from Slams this year, and his only points came from his victories at the other ATP tournaments.

Since Nadal failed to win any Grand Slam titles, could not defend his French Open title, and didn’t take part at Wimbledon or US Open 2021, he didn’t win any ATP points from the four Grand Slams.

Thus, all his 1,545 points that he accomplished this year has come from ATP tournaments like the Barcelona Open 2021, Italian Open 2021, and others. Similarly, US Open 2020 champion, Dominic Thiem, also failed to bag any points from the Grand Slams this year.

Roger Federer too failed to accumulate points at the majors

Just like his friend, Rafa, Federer too didn’t earn many points at the Grand Slams. He only won 180 points at the Grand Slams and accumulated just 45 at the ATP tournaments.

As a result of this, the Swiss Maestro is now out the list of the top-10 ATP players. It is quite shocking since it is for the first time since January 2017, that the 20-time Grand Slam champion is be out of the top-10 ATP rankings.

Both Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer have ended their 2021 season with immediate effect. Will they be able to make an incredible comeback on the court at the Australian Open 2022?
