Doctor Who fans are convinced a certain villain is about to return to the beloved sci-fi after the latest teaser was released.
Series 13, titled Doctor Who: Flux, will be all one story, with the Doctor (Jodie Whittaker), Yaz (Mandip Gill), Dan (John Bishop) and Vinder (Jacob Anderson) joining forces for the ‘fight of their lives’.
As well as taking on the Sontarans, Weeping Angels and the Ravagers, fans are convinced the Doctor’s old enemy, The Master (most recently played by Sacha Dhawan) is about to return for one very simple reason.
It all comes back to a question the Doctor Who cast were asked back in July when the first trailer was released.
Asked to sum up series 13 in one word, Chris Chibnall baffled everyone by saying: ‘Swarm’.
Some fans assumed that Chibnall was referring to The Swarm, an intelligent virus, that appeared in season 15 episode The Invisible Enemy in Classic Who.
However, many have now noticed a pattern, with the first initial of each of the confirmed monsters spelling out the acronym Swarm.
If we assume that Sontarans, Weeping Angels and Ravagers take care of the first four letters, only the M remains unknown – and we all know what iconic villain could fill that spot.
We definitely wouldn’t be surprised if Sacha was to make a comeback as The Master somehow this series – after all, his introduction in series 12 episode Spyfall was majorly kept under wraps until it aired.

If the theory’s right, fans are also wondering how we’re going to see the monsters this time around.
While some have speculated that the order of the acronym is the order we’ll see them in, others have wondered whether there’ll be some kind of alliance between them and other ‘enemies from across the universe’.

Of course, it wouldn’t be the first time iconic monsters have teamed up to fight the Doctor, with one of the most famous episodes being series five’s The Pandorica Opens, which featured the Daleks, Cybermen, and Judoon among those joining forces.
Only time will tell…
Fans were finally blessed with a release date and a new teaser for series 13 recently, with the 13th Doctor recording an emergency call.

‘Can you hear me?’ she says. ‘Listen carefully, we don’t have much time.
‘The Flux is coming. It’s bringing with it the Sontarans, Weeping Angels, creatures known as the Ravagers and enemies from across the universe. This is the fight of our lives.’
Doctor Who returns to BBC One on October 31.
