Ever since the Great British Bake Off returned to screens, contestant Jurgen Krauss has fast become a fan favourite.
From terrifying viewers with his baby bread showstopper to delivering a masterclass in biscuit week, Jurgen has kept Bake Off fans captivated throughout.
Of course, GBBO fans have also been desperate to find out more about Jurgen outside of the tent – so here’s what we know so far.
Jurgen, 56, was born in Germany and grew up in the Black Forest but moved to the UK in 2003 with his wife and family.
He now lives in Brighton where he works as a Database Administrator, a job he has done for the past 18 years.
His wife and son have made a brief appearance on Bake Off themselves, when they popped up on a recent episode to congratulate him on being named Star Baker.

It’s not just his family that have benefitted from Jurgen’s baking skills, as he has often made delicious treats for his work colleagues to get them through the day, too.
Jurgen has also previously worked as a physicist – something which he likes to incorporate in the kitchen too, by utilising his scentific skills.
He revealed that he fell into baking after struggling to find traditional German bread in Brighton, so decided to make his own at home.
His baking ended up going from strength to strength, leading him to apply to be on the Bake Off – and ending up a first favourite to win.

Jurgen’s bread-making skills have also translated to making amazing Jewish chilli bread, according to his family and friends, which is sure to go down a storm with the judges.
