The former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov shared some huge news with his fans on the internet. One of Nurmagomedov’s friends has recently signed a new deal with an Asian MMA promotion.

Despite being retired from professional fighting, ‘The Eagle’ has not completely left combat sports. The Russian undefeated fighter now trains his friends and teammates for their MMA career, and he has been good so far.

Recently, the Dagestan native revealed that one of his friend and training partners signed a new deal with one of Asia’s best MMA promotion One Championship. He took to social media to share the news.

Similar to Nurmagomedov, the 27-year-old Izagakhmaev has an impressive professional career. He will enter his new promotion with a professional MMA record of 19-2 under his name.

He is a skilled finisher with fourteen wins via finish on his resume. Izagakhmaev previously competed in the Eagle Fighting Championship promotion in Russia. This promotion is owned by the UFC legend Khabib Nurmagomedov.

The 27-year-old is currently on a two-fight unbeaten streak and will compete in the welterweight division of the promotion. However, his next opponent is yet to be confirmed. Meanwhile, his friend and coach Nurmagomedov might corner him as he did in his previous bouts.

The UFC Legend Khabib Nurmagomedov as a Coach

The former UFC champion Khabib Nurmagomedov retired from professional fighting with an undefeated record of 29-0 under his name. Interestingly, after his retirement, the Dagestan native continues to train his friends in their MMA careers.

And Nurmagomedov’s coaching results surely reflect on the resume of the fighters that he trains. One such fighter is Islam Makhachev. He competes in the lightweight division of UFC and has only one loss in the promotion.

Under the guidance of ‘The Eagle’, Makhachev has been dominating the division with his impressive performances. He is currently unbeaten in his previous eight bouts. Now the Dagestan native will take on the fellow lightweight Dan Hooker in his next UFC bout at UFC 267.
