Rafael Devers Massive 3-Run HR Earns Him Impressive Record for Boston Red Sox

The Boston Red Sox shattered the Tampa Bay Rays’ dreams of winning the World Series in 2021. En route to glory, Rafael Devers produced a sensational piece of play to guide his team to victory.

The emotions and cheers of fans took over Fenway Park on Monday, as Boston Red Sox clinched the ALDS. Notably, Red Sox paved their way forward, winning the series by 3-1.

Rafael Devers’ postseason record

The Boston Red Sox went up against the Rays in Game 4 of the ALDS. They escalated their way to the ALCS by winning the game 6-5. Notably, when the team was on the brink of elimination, the men in red stepped up and saved the day. One of the many heroic outings was from Rafael Devers.

Despite the struggles with his right arm injury, Rafael has been a pivotal part of the team this season. In the fourth game of the series, the third innings of the match, both the teams were level at 0-0. It was then when 24-year-old Rafael stepped on the plate and turned the game on its course.

Devers smashed a 3-run home run, grabbing the 3-0 lead for Red Sox, and a historical record for himself. With that hit, Rafael now has 20 career postseason RBI’s. Notably, he is the 7th Red Sox player to reach this feat in history.

A look back at the ALDS

It wouldn’t be fair to say that the Red Sox were the sole dominators. Tampa Bay Rays had an impressive start by clinching Game one by 5-0. However, in the next three games, Red Sox triumphed over them. Notably, the Rays put on a tough fight, as the last match was neck-to-neck with 6-5.
