“That’s Why Tyson Fury Beat Him” – Canelo Alvarez Reveals What Went Wrong for Deontay Wilder

Last weekend, Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury rolled out one of the greatest heavyweight slugfests of all time. The duo entered the ring for their third showdown and they left no stones unturned in giving their absolute best. But in the end, it was Tyson Fury who emerged victorious.

Wilder, too, performed extremely well, managing to drop Fury twice in the contest. However, as ‘The Gypsy King’ had an edge over him in many departments, he ended up getting that vital ‘W’.

Recently, the p4p king Canelo Alvarez was in a chat with Brian Custer. Here, he opened up on this iconic heavyweight war and what went wrong for ‘The Bronze Bomber’.

“Oh, great fight, great fight. I think Wilder needs more condition and more moves. He don’t know how to move the head so it’s difficult when you don’t have condition, and you don’t know how to move so that’s why Tyson Fury beat him,” he said.

Wilder began the fight well, and he raised many eyebrows with the long and strong jabs. Fury, on the other hand, didn’t let the ex-champ dictate the pace of the fight and kept coming back with some fiery counterattacks to Wilder’s head.

Tyson Fury even dropped Wilder in round 3 first, but the American fighter later shook the world by dropping the Brit twice in round 4.

That said, after a blistering exchange of punches and technical boxing that saw both men dropped, they kept on battling. However, ‘The Gypsy King’ had the last laugh when he struck Wilder with a devastating right hook in round 11 to finally end the fight.

Although Fury won the fight fair and square, Deontay Wilder won millions of hearts that night and showed the world that he had made some changes to his style. Also, with the performance both these men put on, it’s safe to admit that this fight was the best heavyweight collision of 2021.
