Strictly Come Dancing star Johannes Radebe has shared the love for everyone who has supported him and John Whaite in the first all-male couple, while ignoring any ‘ignorance and stupidity’.
The pair, who topped the leaderboard with their incredible Pirates of the Caribbean themed Paso Doble in the last episode, have received a huge amount of support.
Tweeting for the first time since the live shows kicked off, Johannes wrote: ‘I’ve been avoiding Twitter because it can be brutal, BUT there’s been more love and support than ignorance and stupidity, hence I want to say thank you to everyone who gets it.
‘We will continue showing up and thank you for your lovely messages/comments. Love Jo. X’.
Fans were quick to send their support once again, with Richard Osman telling him: ‘I TOLD you didn’t I? So happy to see how it’s all going. Couldn’t happen to a nicer guy.’
One fan added: ‘It’s so moving watching you and John dance. There’s so much power and emotion in each routine. Your choreography is exquisite. I don’t see two men dancing, just two people (hope that makes sense) who are totally in tune with each other. I really hope that you get to the final x’.
‘Thank you Johannes, and John, for helping us in the LGBT+ community feel seen and loved on the biggest programme on UK TV,’ another said. ‘Your dance with Kai made me cry, and you and John had one of my favourite dances in Strictly history last weekend. You’re a superstar.’
Johannes and Great British Bake Off winner John narrowly missed out on a perfect score in just the third week of the competition with their astonishing Paso Doble.
They received three 10s and a nine, with notoriously harsh judge Craig Revel Horwood heaping praise on them and saying: ‘I didn’t write a thing down, actually, seriously hot, that was unbelievable.’
In the amazing group number, Johannes and his fellow pro (and former roommate) Kai Widdrington also performed a beautiful dance together, with the South African praising his friend after years of them dancing together.
Captioning his sweet post, he wrote: ‘Kai your kindness humbles me my dear friend and thank you for being a true ally to my community.’

Also sharing some throwback videos of the two dancing together, Johannes added: ‘The idea of same sex partnership long before cameras and lights runs deep, thank you for holding me up boo.’
Ending with a reminder for his 261,000 followers, he said cheekily: ‘And ladies he is single,’ followed by a winking face.
Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday at 7pm on BBC One.
