Madonna, Cher, Beyonce – Adele is firmly part of the league of successful single-name singers that dominate the music industry.
The Hello singer is set to make her long-awaited comeback this Friday with the release of her brand new single, Easy On Me.
The 33-year-old never fails to fill up venues, and is set to gross $600 million (around £440 million) in ticket sales during her next tour.
But what name should fans be screaming at her next concert?
What is Adele’s real name?
Adele’s full name is Adele Laurie Blue Adkins.
Adele’s father, Marc Evans, left when Adele was two – so she was raised by her mother, Penny Adkins.

The name Adele, despite sounding French, derives from the German name Adel meaning ‘nobility’, or Adal, which translates to ‘noble’.
It is unknown why the singer chose to just go by her first name, but it might be because ‘Adele’ is not very common.
However, the name is less unusual than you’d think, as fellow songstress Emilie Sande previously revealed that she originally went under the same name.
In 2011, Emilé – whose full name is Adele Emily Sandé – told Sky News that she had to scrap her first name when Adele rose to fame.
The Read All About It singer said: ‘Everyone kept ringing me saying, “Hey, congratulations on your Brit award’” This was when I was studying in Scotland.
‘I was like, “What are you talking about?” And they were like, “Yeah, I just saw you won the Brit”. And I was like, “no”.’

Adele (the real one, that is) seems to be keeping up with the Kardashians, by adopting their iconic name alliterations.
Her son, who she shares with ex-husband Simon Konecki, is called Angelo Adkins.
