The show’s start time is yet to be announced, but it is expected to start at around 7.30pm – the same time as last year.

The fundraising broadcast typically lasts until the wee hours of the next morning.

What is Children in Need 2021’s theme?

This year’s theme is ‘Together, We Can’.

In a short video, the celebs hosting this year explained that the theme aims to show disadvantaged children that they are not alone.

Joe Wicks opened up on his childhood in the clip, revealing: ‘As a child, I grew up in a household with two parents who both experienced mental health issues and as young kid, I was scared and confused.

‘There are millions of children across the UK living with parents with mental health issues and you’re not alone.

‘It’s not your fault and things are going to get better, that’s the most important thing to know, that however you’re feeling today, it’s temporary.

‘Together, we can help children and young people across the UK know that they are not alone, and that we are here for them.’
