BTS and Coldplay were seen sharing gifts this week, following on from their collaboration on My Universe.

Chris Martin was seen receiving ‘modern traditional clothing’ from the K-pop stars, consisting of a matching top and trousers which he immediately put on – before revealing that he also had a gift to give them too.

The Coldplay frontman handed over his favourite guitar to an overwhelmed Jin, before helping him tune it up.

Jin responded: ‘Tell him I’m going to display it as an heirloom, that I can’t play it.’

Chris made sure that Jin was able to perfect a G-chord nonetheless, with the idol seen breaking into a huge smile when he managed to strum it.

Jin told the camera: ‘Chris said I could play his guitar but to be honest I don’t think I can. He even wrote my name on it and autographed it.

‘I’m going to put it on display at home as an heirloom and display it.’

Chris also revealed to radio host Elvis Duran on Thursday how the collaboration on My Universe came about: ‘Someone said to us 18 months ago, “oh BTS want to do a song with you.”’

He admitted he wasn’t sure a collab between Coldplay and BTS would work until they wrote My Universe, adding: ’It felt like this was the song for BTS and us to do [as it’s about] love that’s difficult that has to transcend borders.’

Chris revealed that working with BTS felt ‘very natural and it’s been an amazing experience and we love them deeply.’

He joked that them performing together would make him look like the ‘weird uncle’, adding: ‘We look like the people that paid for the dance lesson or something.

‘It’s a strange visual because you get these seven gorgeous young men and… what’s the rock with all the… what’s the one with all the presidents carved in the rock? Looks like they’re standing in front of a sort of soft rock Mt. Rushmore.’
