Michael McIntyre won’t be signing up to Strictly Come Dancing anytime soon, joking that his wife would ban him after seeing one of the professional dancer’s sultry photos.

The comedian, 45, appeared on BBC’s The One Show on Thursday alongside Strictly contestant Tom Fletcher and his dance partner Amy Dowden.

Host Ronan Keating noted that pro dancer Luba Mushtuk once said Michael was her dream partner.

After Luba’s promo photo appeared on-screen, showing her pulling a sexy pose, Ronan asked if Michael would like to compete on Strictly, to which he replied with a shocked face: ‘Goodness, I don’t think my wife would allow me looking at that photograph.

‘I didn’t know that, I didn’t know I was in anybody’s dreams. That’s very exciting.’

He then quipped: ‘I would only consider Strictly as one of the pro dancers.’

Michael is married to aromatherapist Kitty and the couple share two sons, Lucas and Oscar.

Luba told Radio Times in April: ‘I would love to see Michael McIntyre on the show, and I think it would be great entertainment. It would be so amazing and so fun!

‘I just want a person who will go for anything because in this experience and in this show, you just need to completely dive into the uncomfortable zone. I just want someone who will absolutely trust me and be committed 150 per cent. The rest of it I truly never think about. For me it’s all about the commitment!’

Strictly has been thrown into chaos this week, with Robert Webb forced to quit the series due to health issues. Earlier today, Ugo Monye announced he was pulling out of Saturday’s live show due to ongoing problems with a back injury.

McFly singer Tom said of the disappointing news: ‘It’s awful, it’s the worst. Strictly is an amazing experience and we get once chance.

‘The pros they get to come back year after year and be in this amazing family and we only get to do it once so having to take time off and leave, it must be so hard and we feel sorry for them both.

‘It’s an amazing experience and no one wants to be the one sat at home watching it all go on without you. So sending all our love to Ugo and Robert.’

‘Actually the last time we were here with Rob announcing we were on so feeling really sorry for them,’ he added.

The One Show airs weeknights at 7pm on BBC One. Strictly Come Dancing returns this Saturday at 7pm.
