Which Was Tiger Woods’ Best Season on the PGA Tour and Why

Everyone considered golf as an old man’s sport, with no athleticism or skill required. Moreover, for many years, people did not even consider it a sport. However, things started to change in 1996 when a player named Tiger Woods made his way into golf. Woods caught the attention of the whole world with his skill and talent and revolutionized golf.

Hence, all the money and viewership that golf has today came because of just one name, which is Tiger Woods. And since then, he has been dominating this sport to date. So let us find which was Tiger’s best season on the PGA Tour.

Which was Tiger Woods’ best season on the PGA Tour?

Even though Tiger Woods was dominant from 2000 to 2010, he had an unfathomable season in 2000. He set or tied around 27 Tour records in this season. He won three consecutive majors, The U.S. Open, PGA Championship, and The Open Championship, and the 2001 Masters to complete a career grand slam.

Tiger also became only the second player in the history of this sport to win three major events in a year. He joined Ben Hogan, who achieved this in 1953. Moreover, he had the best scoring average of 68.17, which is the best in the history of golf. Woods also finished the year with 47 consecutive rounds of par or better and completed all 20 events of the season under par.

Furthermore, he also had nine victories in this season, making it the most in a season since Sam Snead’s 11 in 1950. And finally, he won the Tour Player of the Year Award and finished this incredible season on a high note. Since then, no other golfer has been able to achieve so much in a season.

Hence, the 2000 season was the best season for Tiger Woods in his career, and the chances of something happening better than this is very minimal. Many players fail to achieve even half of all these things in their entire career, which Tiger Woods accomplished in just one season.
