Doctor Who fans have been given a teaser of what to expect from Doctor Who: Flux as six new chapters are set to be revealed.

The episodes will begin on October 31 and things are not set to get any easier for Jodie Whittaker’s Doctor.

The one-minute teaser trailer promises the return of the Sontarans and the Ood as the Doctor and co battle to save the future.

Eagle-eyed fans have spotted that the Sontarans’ look is more similar to how they appeared in the Tom Baker era in the 70s, suggesting a possible rollback or erasing of time.

This theory is further compounded when the Doctor appears to do the impossible and fall through time, suggesting something time-related is definitely set to occur.

Fans will also be expecting a resolution to the cliffhanger reveal at the end of last series, which showed the Doctor was the Timeless Child, leaving many questions unanswered.

Doctor Who: Flux will run as an event serial, following the same storyline throughout all the episodes.

As well as the six-chapter run, Jodie is expected to star in three more special episodes to pass the torch onto the next Doctor, the identity of whom is yet to be revealed.

Jodie is not the only person leaving the franchise after season 13, as showrunner Chris Chibnall will also be leaving.

More: Doctor Who

Russell T. Davies will be returning for season 14 and his return will coincide with the 60th anniversary of Doctor Who, which has been promised to be ‘explosive’.

Doctor Who: Flux begins on October 31 on BBC One.
