Doctor Who star Jodie Whittaker has revealed she’s already filmed the regeneration scene which will introduce the 14th Doctor to the world.

We’re not prepared in the slightest.

It was revealed that Jodie, who’s starred as the 13th Doctor since 2017, and Mandip Gill, who plays Yaz, have filmed their final scenes, which will air next year.

Asked if she has filmed the regeneration scene, Jodie said: ‘They are never going to tell me who it is.

‘We filmed some scenes, but the new Doctor wasn’t there. I wasn’t there for Peter (Capaldi), and I only met him months later when I passed him in the street!’

She also opened up on series 13, saying on the Graham Norton Show: ‘I’m not allowed to tell you anything, but I can say the first episode is out on Halloween and it is a six-episode story arc – it’s like a six-hour film and it is amazing.’

Jodie will be leaving the beloved sci-fi in 2022 along with showrunner Chris Chibnall.

While it was announced that Russell T Davies will make an explosive return to helm the series after bringing Doctor Who back to screens in 2005, it’s anyone’s guess as to who will take on the main role.

The bookies’ favourite is still Olly Alexander, who starred in Russell’s series It’s A Sin, but some fans reckon he would be too obvious a pick.

But before then, we’ve got series 13 to look forward to, with Jodie and Mandip returning alongside newbies John Bishop (Dan) and Jacob Anderson (Vinder).

Doctor Who: Flux will be all one story, making an ambitious departure from the usual episodic stories.

We’ll also see some familiar monsters back on screen as the Sontarans and Weeping Angels are back, with some fans also convinced that Sacha Dhawan will reprise his role as The Master.

Not long to go now!

The Graham Norton Show airs tonight at 10:35pm on BBC One. Doctor Who returns to BBC One and BBC iPlayer on October 31.
