IT’S pumpkin spiced latte season, with coffee lovers clamouring for the drink that “tastes like autumn”.
But there are a whole latte other ways to get a “spice” of the pumpkin action . . .

BEAN THERE, SHUN THAT: Instead of paying around £3 at Starbucks for the brew, make it at home. Whittard’s limited-edition pumpkin spice ground coffee is £7 for 200g or try the instant from beaniesflavourco.co.uk at £2.50 for 50g. You can sometimes grab it in Lidl, too.
HUE’S THAT CURL?: The trend has gone to some people’s heads, with pumpkin spice hair colour trending on Insta. For a cool autumnal shade, try bleachlondon.com Curious Orange semi-permanent colour, £6.50, or Superdrug’s Performance Permanent hair dye in Copper Burst, £4.99.
SOAPER STARS: The soothing scents of pumpkin and cinnamon make for a relaxing bath time. The Body Shop’s vanilla pumpkin shower cream, £6.50, smells amazing, but I love Lush’s pumpkin spice soap, £5. It lasts for ages.
PERFECT SCENTS: Want the house to be filled with that glorious cinnamon and pumpkin smell? Grab a bargain £12.99 pumpkin candle from TK Maxx or head to Wilko where the Glade Electric Holder air freshener in pumpkin spiced latte is half price at £3.50. And why not clean up your home while leaving that glorious smell with the new pumpkin spice disinfectant from myfabulosa.co.uk.
HOME BAKES: Use a tin of pumpkin puree, £1.60 at Sainsbury’s, to add a little flavour to your own hot chocolate along with some ground allspice.
Or bake a pumpkin spice pie. Check YouTube for instructions but home-made is a lot cheaper than a pre-bought one. The only shop-bought pumpkin pie I could find was at primrose-bakery.co.uk, and while it looks delicious it’s a cool £32.95.
