“Jon Jones’ Record Will Be Broken”- Henry Cejudo Says Even Anderson Silva And Demetrious Johnson Will Be Left Watching After He Beats Alexander Volkanovski

Henry Cejudo, the former Olympic gold medalist and two-division UFC champion, is looking for a fight against Alexander Volkanovski.

The former UFC flyweight and bantamweight champion ever since the conclusion of UFC 266, has called out UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski multiple times. Both fighters haven’t held back and have been going at each other. Cejudo is looking to make history against Volkanovski.

If ‘The Messenger’ gets the fights and beats Volkanovski, he will become the first three-division champion in UFC history. People already consider Cejudo as one of the greatest combat athletes of all time for his accomplishments in MMA and wrestling. A third UFC title will help him cement that argument in his favor.

Recently Henry was asked about what would a win against Volkanovski mean compared to his other accomplishments. Henry, in his reply, said, “That would just put a cherry on top of the other cherry. There’s never been an Olympic champ, there’s never been a flyweight champ who defended his belt. There has never been a bantamweight champ, and I’ve done it all. Now, on top of that, imagine that fourth title which would make me ‘C4’. I mean, it’s never been done. I believe I have records that will never be broken in a very, very long time.”

“Jon Jones’ record will be broken, Demetrious Johnson’s record will be broken, Anderson Silva’s record will be broken. All these guys, all their will be broken. My accolades speak louder than my words,” he added.

Henry Cejudo’s pursuit of greatness

Many people, over the course of his career, have criticized Henry Cejudo. People have given him the name ‘ The King of Cringe’, which he happily carries with him. People can say a lot of things, but no one can question his fighting ability. He won the UFC flyweight championship in 2018 after beating Demetrious Johnson. That was the first loss in almost seven years for ‘Mighty Mouse’. He then claimed the UFC bantamweight title in 2019. Cejudo later defended the bantamweight title against one of the greatest bantamweights in MMA history, Dominick Cruz.

He announced his retirement from the sport after beating Cruz but kept the door open on his return. After the fight, he said that he would be open to fighting again, given the money was right. Cejudo now believes this is the right time for him to come back. Ever since Volkanovski defeated Brian Ortega at UFC 266, Cejudo has been asking for a fight against him.

Henry also said, “I know the UFC is interested, I know Dana’s interested, I know Hunter Campbell’s interested. I may be potentially going out and meeting up with Dana next week to talk about that.”

The fans will have to wait and see if the fight is officially made, but if it is, it is sure to be an interesting one. What do you make of Henry’s confidence? Let us know your thoughts!
